Kambove Mining SAS (KMS), a second-tier subsidiary of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (CNMC), recently donated teaching and training equipment to a specialized continuing education and vocational training center in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

The donated equipment, covering computer-based teaching, nursing training, and laboratory practice, has been officially put into use at the CIDEP (Centre Interdisciplinaire pour le Développement et l'Education Permanente), a specialized service of the DRC's Ministry of Higher and University Education in charge of continuing education and vocational training.

At the donation handover ceremony, held in Kambove town, Haut-Katanga Province of the DRC, Shi Dejun, Assistant to the President of KMS, said that the company recognizes the importance of education for social progress and hopes that the donation will help improve CIDEP's teaching conditions, enhance practical training capacity, and create more learning opportunities for local youth.

Adhering to a philosophy that its development is rooted in society and that it, in turn, gives back to society, KMS remains committed to fulfilling its social responsibilities, with continuous attention paid to education, healthcare, and people's livelihoods, among other sectors, according to Shi.

The donation represents not only a livelihood-oriented initiative, but also a vivid example of shared growth between the company and local communities, he noted.

Looking ahead, KMS will continue to deepen partnerships with local stakeholders and explore more models for cooperation and shared development between the company and local communities, so that its development achievements can better benefit local residents, Shi said.

Local representatives, including community chairman Mumba, head of CIDEP Mwanza Mwiba Bruno, district chief Henri, and Kambove Town Mayor Francis Kalongo Kayembe, expressed sincere gratitude for KMS' long-term commitment and concrete actions taken to support local community development and educational causes.

They unanimously noted that the donation has effectively improved CIDEP's training conditions and created a better environment for local youth to access high-quality education and vocational training.

Mwanza Mwiba Bruno said that the CIDEP will properly manage and fully utilize the donated equipment, ensuring its effective role in practical teaching, while continuously improving teaching quality and talent development outcomes.

Mayor Francis Kalongo Kayembe highly commended KMS for its long-standing contributions to local development.

From building schools, clinics, and wells, to supporting road and bridge improvements and community assistance programs, and now donating educational equipment, KMS has consistently supported Kambove's development through concrete actions, becoming an important partner in regional growth, the official noted.
